CareBright Community is Ireland’s first purpose built community for people living with dementia. This project will be situated on a four-acre site in the heart of Bruff and will provide independent living along with a vibrant community for those living with dementia.  The €5.5m project is being funded by the Department of Health, JP McManus Benevolent Fund and CareBright Limited.

The CareBright Community consists of four buildings set with a heavily landscape setting.  The development will comprise of three 6 bedroom houses, each with its own living room, bedroom, bathroom and private garden.  The separate Daycare Hub will offer a range of facilities to its 200 plus visitors weekly to include: community cafe, spa and therapy rooms, gym, mens’ sheds and gardens for everyone to enjoy.

The CareBright Community will be a person centred, activity based model of care, similar to the very successful household model being used at Hogewey in Holland.  Extensive research on best practice models has found that the small scale household model has a greater positive impact on the quality of life for people living with dementia.  This model reinforces quality care and support for everyone living in this community.

The CareBright Community is expected to open in Bruff in August 2017.
