Quinn Architects were invited by a Private Client to prepare design proposals to refurbish and extend a recently purchased residence in Harolds Cross, Dublin 6. The part single, part two storey extension is located to the rear and side of the existing house so as not to detract from the composition of the existing elevation. The aim of the project is to modernise the existing house to modern standards and to develop a contemporary extension to accommodate expanded living accommodation in a comfortable, light filled environment that maximises potential connections with the generous garden spaces to the front and rear of the property. The design of the extension and renovation of the house pay particular attention to the age, size and character of the existing house as well as the scale and character of the surrounding properties.
