The new Main Entrance to adjacent to the Foundation Building at Mary Immaculate College is now open.  The new Entrance completely replaces the earlier structure and introduces a portico structure to identify the entry to the Foyer and new Reception Area.  As part of the works, the existing Halla Building has been re-clad so that the overall composition is a collage of three stone types: Portland stone for the portico, polished red Granite for the Halla and Carlow Limestone for the stage area, fronting onto the public road.

One major success of the design is the elimination of the internal steps down to the Foyer so that the new Main Entrance now provides level access.  The scale of the Entrance and the selection of high quality materials reflects the status of the College as a Centre of Excellence and the only Third-level institution based in the City Centre.  Click here to learn more.
