Project Description

Mary Immaculate College first engaged Quinn Architects in 2011 to assess the feasibility of converting the former Mount St. Vincent complex constructed in the 1860’s for use as a Post- Graduate Centre. Following detail studies, Quinn Architects was appointed to oversee a comprehensive refurbishment of the existing building of 3,240 sq.m. organised over four storeys to facilitate their re-use as a place of research and learning. The Refurbishment Scope of Works included: Complete reroofing of the entire building and repairs to chimney and leaded valleys. Repointing of limestone walls externally and drylining internally. Repairs/replacement of external windows and doors. Internal alterations and extensive fire upgrade works to bring building up to current Standards. New Building Services, including boilers, lighting, fire detection system, ICT, new lift. Extensive external works comprising car parking and soft landscaping.
