Quinn Architects was honoured to be appointed by the University of Limerick to undertake a refurbishment of the public areas of the University Concert Hall on the occasion of its 25th Anniversary. The scope of work includes refurbishment of the Box Office, Café Allegro and the Atrium as well as the design of a new freestanding Bar in the centre of the Atrium. Particular attention was paid to material selection to ensure that the completed works met the aesthetic objectives of the Project Brief while being robust enough to withstand the significant traffic through building, both during the daytime related to academic programmes and in the evening connected to the function of the Concert Hall as a public entertainment venue. The works were completed on a live Univeristy Campus in two phases across the Summer Holiday period 2018 and 2019 and organised around a number of fixed calendar events that had to be accommodated within the Construction Programme.
