Project Description

Tipperary Primary Care Centre opened in August 2016.  The 2,800 sq.m. development by Axis Healthcare is located on prominent 0.8 hectare site next to the Civic offices and consists of HSE accommodation, a GP practice and Pharmacy.  The development includes 118 car parking spaces and set-down area for emergency vehicles.

The building is organised across two stories with entrance through a three story atrium in the centre of the building.  The principle facades are characterised by the use of feature projections finished in Tegral fibre cement cladding to denote the Pharmacy and the Main Entrance to the building.  The atrium space is bright and inviting – and acts as a break-out space on both floors.   The atrium is further enlivened by two storey wall mural symbolising life and growth is the form a tree stretching upwards.  The colour palette in the building was carefully considered with accent colours to the doors in each wing of the building.

The building achieves an A3 BER rating.
